About Workshops

about workshops

The electro-etching courses offered by Alfonso Crujera are intended for professional or amateur printmakers, teachers, and students of art and etching.

Electro-etching is a technique that was discovered in the nineteenth century, and that only recently has been re-discovered as a non-toxic printmaking alternative. It offers one of the healthiest and most fascinating methods for etching copper, zinc, and iron plates. Among its many other advantages, the electro-etching process does not generate toxic gases, nor does it deteriorate the metal during etching. The mordant does not become exhausted by successive bites and it does not undercut the metal under the varnish. It completely eliminates the harmful spray from rosin or asphalt for aquatints.

Alfonso Crujera has taught courses and set up electro-etching units in multiple professional workshops and universities in Mexico and Spain. See more information about these workshops on this link.

The courses must be scheduled at least three months in advance.  For further information please do not hesitate to send us an email.

Alfonso Crujera offers two different courses.
